Stuff & Things

Goings on in my life.

Stuff & Things

One year on, and I’m STILL talking about Science and the City!

I’ve added some reviews and other media over on the dedicated Media page, and promise to add photos soon too. If you spot a copy of the book anywhere, please take a photo of it, and Tweet or email it to me – it will absolutely make my day/week/month/year!

Some things have changed, though – I’m now working on Book #2, and I’m living in Wellington, NZ. So keep your eyes peeled for updates

Wilderness Festival

I spoke in the Literary tent on Saturday 6th August. I was very, very nervous – it was the first time I’d talked about the book, and actually the first proper public talk I’ve given in 2 years! But, I needn’t have worried. The crowd were wonderfully warm, and the talk was well-received. I also had the exciting moment of being asked to SIGN MY BOOK by people who’d bought it after hearing me speak!

Science Gallery Dublin

On Wednesday 24th August, I headed home to give talk on the science of cities at the Science Gallery (at the back of Trinity College Dublin). Award-winning science journalist Claire O Connell interviewed me in front of a packed audience, and all of the books were sold afterwards! Delighted doesn’t even begin to cover it

How To Academy

I’ll be speaking about future cities at the How To Academy on 8 September. This event is not free I’m afraid, but it should be a lot of fun. Follow the link above for more details.

I thought it was about time I graduated from a blog, so I’d like to welcome you to my new website, which was built by my nephew Keith Murphy, who just happens to be a superstar web developer. The header for my new blog page was designed by a very talented graphic designer, Rory Martin. Both are available for hire, so drop me a message if you’d like me to connect you. I must admit though, that seeing my name in a URL is very odd!
